Can you code with 9 fingers?

That’s what I’m doing today thanks to a relatively freak accident with a staple gun yesterday. I won’t bore you with the details (that would confirm what a bonehead I can be sometimes). Just suffice it to say that, it could have been a lot worse.

Damn Dan. You looking at permanent damage?

Actually not damage much at all. The doc said if I had been a few millimeters to either side of the finger, I’d have hit blood vessels and nerves, but, as it was I just punctured the tendon and the bone. He said to work it back and forth for the next week to regain full range of motion and I’d be fine.

Man. Please share the details so that we will be extra careful in doing what ever you did to get this.

I’ll just caution everyone to make sure they are completely aware of which end the staple comes out of when they attempt to use a staple gun and leave it at that :)

HOLY COW!! I can’t believe you were even calm enough to snap a picture :) I’m really glad to hear there will be no permanent damage.

It’s surprising there was hardly any pain at all. The tetanus shot wound up hurting more than skewering my finger bone!

LOL, reminds me of when I first moved into my house, I was putting a new door handle on the back door.. Chissling the hole out… bang bang bang bang… SCREAM… !!!!
Wife comes down to find a blood fountain spewing from my foot wher eI had dropped the chisel and punctured the artery. Minutes later, nee naw nee naw nee naw as an ambulance arrives.
A nice introduction to my new neighbours.
Moral: don’t work with sharp tools only wearing sandals :-)
